mommy’s going to help babysit for my lady alexa and her brothers once a week or so. it’s great because they have lots of toys and i get to learn how to do big boy things from alexa who’s 15 months old. she can talk and walk and do all sorts of cool stuff. she even tries to read to me.
i’m not content with just crawling and sitting, i mean really it’s been a couple weeks of this crawling bit…and everyone else seems to have so much fun when they’re standing. it’s hard work though, apparently this is the first step to moving around and having my hands free…all the better to grab more stuff with!
- it’s a yoga pose, this box is awesome
- fun with GrandBob
- my first real standing
simon was a little concerned with the waves coming at him, but definitely enjoyed the sound of them when we would walk on the beach. he always fell asleep in the carrier. he liked floating in the lazy river with us too. iwas constantly putting sunscreen on him and making sure he had his hat on since he seems to have my complexion!
- beach boys
- lazy river
- the pale ones
- here it comes!
he’s getting faster and faster, using lots of methods of crawling now. he was determined to figure it out with his head up and he did, on his 6 month birthday while i was on the phone with grandma and grandpa he started moving forward a little bit. he’s working out the kinks now and seems to be able to get where he wants to go with decent speed. he was frustrated for a few days with crawling but not being able to sit back up, it didn’t take him though, we were at the beach and he sat up by himself and was very pleased!
simon’s napping so i’m going to catch everyone up on the past month. after a lot of going backwards, rocking on hands and knees and looking frustrated he started making forward motion progress on his 6 month birthday and ever since then he’s been doing something new every day. he can now crawl easily and fairly quickly. he can sit himself back up from being on the ground and since that’s not enough, he decided it’s time to pull up to standing.
he’s been eating more (thank goodness says Grandma B). he seems to like carrots, loves his cheerios, has taken in some oatmeal and continues to enjoy some sweet potatoes and bananas along with some other things he’s already tried.
we attended Shakori Hills Music Festival over our anniversary weekend. simon really enjoyed the varied music and being outdoors, he napped really well while we were there.
the next week we went to myrtle beach for a few days. simon got to dip his toes in the ocean, play in the sand, swim in the pool, ride in the lazy river and crawl all over our large suite. we all had a nice relaxing time despite the fact that simon and mommy had colds!
this past week GrandBob came to visit for a couple days. he took tons of pictures, simon hammed it up, smiling, laughing and showing GrandBob all his new tricks. it was great to have GrandBob here to enjoy simon at such a fun time in his development!
simon and mommy started swim classes last week too. the pool has been a little cold, but he seems to enjoy it nonetheless. hopefully they’re going to turn up the heat for us the next couple weeks and he’ll really get to kicking!
simon and mommy are headed to PA next wednesday for a few days to visit Grandma and Grandpa B as well as other family and friends! wish us luck on the plane!
